The School of Chemistry and Food (EQA) of the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) offers, at the Santo Antônio da Patrulha Campus (FURG-SAP), two free short-term higher technology courses: Chemical Process Technology (TPQ) and Food Technology (TAL).
Both are in-person courses, lasting three years (six semesters), offering 25 annual spots and conferring the title of Technologist. Academic activities take place at the two campus units, Cidade Alta (UCA) and Bom Princípio (UBP), in the afternoon and evening shifts, compatible with the routine of those already in the job market. The total workload is 2,400 hours and includes mandatory supervised internship, curricular extension activities and subjects with a distance learning component (EaD).
The TPQ trains professionals capable of analyzing, planning, operating and managing chemical processes in different industrial segments, with attention to analytical control and the quality of products and processes. The TAL prepares professionals to work in the food and beverage industry, mastering the stages of processing, quality control, safety, sensory analysis and new product development.
